description South Shore Park, the busier of the two Lake Bastrop parks, offers a variety of outdoor activities. The 900-acre lake contains bass, crappie, perch and catfish. Anglers can drop a line from the park's fishing pier or head out on a boat from the park's ramp. Park guests have the use of a sand volleyball court, trails, swimming area, washer pits, and horseshoe pits. Restrooms, showers and a dump station are available for park guests. Facility Rental Options Standard Electric and Water (32) : Universal sites can accommodate either RV, pop up camper and tent camper with water and electric (30/50 amp) hookups. Standard Full Hook Up (4) : Universal sites can accommodate either RV, pop up camper and tent camper with water, electric (30/50 amp) and sewer hookups. Mini-Cabins (18) : Cabins sleeps up to five people in two sets of bunk beds. First bunk includes a full size bed on the bottom and a twin on top. The second bunk includes two twin size beds. Each cabin includes electricity, outside potable water spigot, air conditioning and heat, ceiling fan, front porch, picnic table, and grill. Six cabins are located at Osprey Point near the day-use and swim areas. Twelve cabins are located along the lakefront in a cove area. Pet friendly cabins are available. Group Hall (1) : Osprey Point Hall is suitable for weddings, family reunions, holiday parties, or company and church picnics. When rented in combination with the adjacent Osprey Point Cabins, this facility is popular for events requiring overnight accommodations. The hall is designed for sit down dinners of up to 80 people or up to 120 people if the outside picnic area is utilized. The hall has air conditioning and heat, catering kitchen with commercial sink, refrigerator, buffet counter, icemaker, tables and chairs, private restrooms and a fireplace. Horseshoe pits, washer pits and a large group smoker/ barbeque are located outside of the hall. Only service animals are allowed in the hall. Hall rental hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Please call the park office at 512-498-1922 after reserving the hall for more details. Pavilion (1) : South Shore Pavilion is also suitable for weddings, family reunions, holiday parties, or company and church picnics. The pavilion offers lake front view, eight picnic tables and a large grill. All park visitors must check in at the park office when arriving at the park. drivingDirection From Houston/Katy Take I-10 West. Take exit 695 to merge onto TX-71 West/Feeder Rd toward LaGrange/Austin. Continue on TX -71 West for approximately 55 miles. Take slight right onto TX-150 Loop West, turn right onto TX-21 East. Turn left onto South Shore Road Park entrance will be located on your right at 375 South Shore Road, will be on your right approximately a 1.4 miles. From Dallas Take IH35 South through Round Rock. Turn left onto FM 734 East (Parmer Lane) toward Elgin. Turn left on US-290 East. Continue for approximately 13 miles and turn right on to TX-95 South into Bastrop. Turn left onto TX-21 East, (at the Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Shell Gas Station ). Continue for approximately 2 miles turn left onto South Shore Road Park entrance will be on your right approximately a 1.4 miles. From Austin Take TX-71 East into Bastrop. Turn onto 95, turn left onto TX-21 East (at the Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Shell Gas Station). importantInformation Entrance fees are charged in addition to your site fees and are collected upon arrival at the park. The entrance fees are $5 for adults (13 years and older) per person per day, children 12 years or younger are free, Texas senior residents (65 years and older) are $2 per person per day, military who are permanent disabled are $2 per person per day, disabled individuals are $2 per person per day. If arriving after 4:00 p.m. please contact the park office at 512-498-1922 prior to arriving. Check-in for all sites is 3:00 p.m. and check out is noon. Smoking is strictly prohibited in any building including cabins. Pets are welcome in the park but must remain on leash or contained in a fenced structure. Pets are restricted to designated pet friendly mini-cabins only Quiet hours are between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. No excessive noise, running generators, or amplified music is permitted during quiet hours. No glass containers are permitted. Please contact the park office at 512-498-1922 for any organized group activity on LCRA land involving 20 people or more to obtain a land use permit.
